The new Canadian chamber ensemble Magisterra Soloists performs in Sudbury next month as part of a tour of Ontario and Quebec.
The London, Ont.-based ensemble unites a kaleidoscope of artists from across the globe under the direction of acclaimed German violinist Annette-Barbara Vogel.
One of the performers is Tyler Makinen, a Sudbury native who studied under former Sudbury Symphony Orchestra musical director Metro Kozak.
Magisterra engages a broad and vibrant repertoire ranging from known masterworks to new and commissioned works by Canadian composers.
The Sudbury concert takes place starting at 7 p.m. May 9 at St. Andrew's Place. Tickets cost $25 for adults, $20 for seniors, $15 for students and $10 for children, and are available at the door.
