Children's performance of 'Little Witch' at STC Saturday, Nov. 10

Only one performance of this 'heartwarming, poetic and thrilling fable'

Sudbury Theatre Centre presents Geordie Theatre's English-language premiere of Little Witch for one performance only - Saturday, November 10 at 2 p.m.

This heartwarming, poetic and thrilling fable, for children aged six to 12 years, is about big choices and features highly imaginative performances, playful scenic design and enchanting storytelling.

Deep in the woods lived Little Witch, her beloved cat and her mother, Old Witch. One day, the ailing Old Witch finds an ogre caught in a trap. As a reward for saving him, Old Witch strikes a deal with the ogre to take care of her daughter when she is gone.

All too soon, Little Witch finds herself living in the ogre's kingdom. However, when Little Witch encounters the curious Hunter Boy near the new home, the ogre's appetite takes over.

Little Witch, helped by the sage words of her mother, is forced to make a choice: to save the boy, to save herself, or choose another path; a decision that illuminates the power she had within herself all along.

Written by Pascal Brullemans, translated by Alexis Diamond and directed by Arianna Bardesono, Little Witch is part of Geordie's popular 2Play School Tour that runs from September to April bringing professional live theatre into schools, community centres and libraries across Quebec, Ontario and the Maritimes.

All tickets to Little Witch are just $15. Phone the STC DiBrina Box Office at 705-674-8381, online at or visit 170 Shaughnessy Street in Downtown Sudbury.

Little Witch is developed with the support of the 2017 Banff Centre Playwrights Lab Touring in Quebec, Ontario & the Maritimes September 2018 - April 2019.
