If you fancy a drive out to Capreol this weekend, consider attending the Northern Ontario Railroad Museum's open house this Saturday, May 21. The event takes place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The museum is celebrating the 100th anniversary of the museum house and is kicking off the annual summer season with a day of free admission. Non-perishable food items will be accepted and donated to the local food bank.
The museum will also be unveiling the newly reconstructed cab of its 1907 Temiskaming and Northern Ontario Railway steam locomotive. Guests will have the opportunity to tour the cab before it is re-attached to the locomotive.
Beginning this Saturday, the museum will be open seven days a week until Sept. 4.
The museum is located at 26 Bloor St. in Capreol. For more information, visit the website or phone 705-858-5050.
