Canadian folk icon Valdy is heading back to the Nickel City for a Sept. 24 show.

This is the 15th season for the Dairy Queen Fall Concert series, the profit from which benefits the Out of the Cold hot meal program here in Sudbury. Valdy’s show is the first of three concerts.

The show at St. Andrew’s Place, 111 Larch Street, on Sept. 24 opens at 7 p.m. sharp, so get there early.

However, if you've not yet purchased tickets, you're out of luck. The show is sold out.

You can still purchase tickets for the two upcoming Out of the Cold concerts, though.

The series organized by Bob Bale continues on Oct. 29 when folk/pop trio Sweet Alibi from Winnipeg comes to town.

Sweet Alibi stopped by Sudbury.com in 2016 and we created a music video together at our super secret spot. Check it out here:

The series ends Nov. 19 with another harmonic group of performers, Boreal. The Guelph trio are Katherine Wheatley, Jude Vadala and Tannis Slimmon. Sudbury.com doesn’t have a video of theirs unfortunately.

These shows are sold by a series pass that covers all three shows for $50. Individual concert tickets are $25 per show.

As the concert series has a strong subscriber base, it is expected that all shows will sell out. Advance purchase is strongly recommended to avoid being turned away at the door.

For ticket information contact Bob Bale at 705-523-6200.
