There's a new twist to this year's Opera for a Cause concerts, set for 7 p.m. on Nov. 4 and 2:30 p.m. on Nov. 5. The performers will be taking on popular Broadway music.
“After every performance, for the last five years, the audience has said they would love to see our group perform a bit of Broadway too, just to show the diverseness of the talent and range of abilities,” said co-producer/vocalist Tracy Sanmiya, in a press release.
“Many of us started in jazz and Broadway, so it's always fun to 'come home' with our music, and it's so rare to be able to perform such a variety of genres in one concert. It's going to be amazing.”
Over the past five years, Opera for a Cause has raised more than $20,000 for their charities, Sudbury's Blue Door Soup Kitchen and the Infant Food Bank.
Tickets to the event cost $20 for general admission, and are available at Vrab's Independent Grocer, Jett Landry Music, Long & McQuade and by phone at 705-566-8101, ext. 7227.
