Sudbury Music Festival invites music lovers of all ages to a fundraising concert and silent auction featuring 2V+, Sudbury's newest classic rock crossover band.

They will be joined by award winners from the local 2024 festival as well as the Ontario Music Festival Association competition.

Fronted by violinists Cristina Masotti and Melissa Schaak, 2V+ is a dynamic ensemble including accordion, double bass, guitar, and drums with a dazzling program of classical and rock music. 2V+ sold out concerts at Place des Arts this spring.

The concert will be held on Saturday, Oct. 19 at Sudbury Secondary’s School’s Sheridan Auditorium. Doors open at 7:30 p.m., with the concert beginning at 8 p.m.

"The fundraising concert is a showcase of the achievements of our city's talented musicians and is a celebration of passion and hard work," said Ralph McIntosh, chair of the SMF board.

“We are delighted to feature the energetic members of 2V+ as well, many of whom participated in previous festivals themselves.”

Formerly the Kiwanis Music Festival of Sudbury, the Sudbury Music Festival’s mission is to provide young musicians an opportunity for artistic expression and personal growth in an encouraging and supportive environment.

Tickets for the concert are $30 for adults and $15 for students. They are available through Eventbrite or by contacting Ralph McIntosh at 705-662-0115 or [email protected].
