Fiddler Doug Leahy and his family will be performing at Fiddleworks' 15th annual fiddle contest, which takes place in Chelmsford this weekend.
Doug Leahy is known for performing with the East Coast music group Leahy, which is made up of his brothers and sisters.
The Leahy concerts — which will take place in between competition categories — are expected to last about an hour each, and will start Saturday sometime between 11 and 1 p.m. and then again around 7 and 8 p.m. the same day.
The fiddle contest takes place at École élémentaire catholique l'Alliance St-Joseph. The events start at 6:30 p.m. Friday, at 9:30 a.m. Saturday morning and again at 6 p.m. Saturday evening.
Fiddleworks president Paul Lemelin said the event is family friendly, as it's enjoyable for people of all ages.
Weekend passes to the fiddle competition cost $30 each. Passes to the Friday evening and Saturday matinee event cost $12 each, while it costs $15 each for passes to the Saturday evening event. All passes are available at the door.
