Eaglesmith set to rock cottage country

Alternative country singer-songwriter Fred Eaglesmith is escaping city life this July, bringing his act to some tiny communities in cottage country.

This includes Noelville, where he'll be playing at the Knights of Columbus Hall on July 11, and Killarney, where he'll be playing at the Veterans Memorial Hall on July 12. Both shows start at 8 p.m.

Despite international acclaim and a world-class show, you’re more likely to see Eaglesmith play to 150 fans in a rural community hall or Legion versus a large theatre, a press release said.

Likewise, it’s more probable to hear about his next live show via a stencilled roadside sign, simple black and white posters or via the grapevine from FredHeads - and to find Fred sleeping in his bus in a parking lot over a five-star hotel.

“The performance harkens back to the ‘60s and ‘70s variety shows on TV,” Eaglesmith said, in the press release.

“It’s gonna be music, jokes, comedy. Sounds like 1966. I want to pick up where those guys left off. It was a really cool time in music.”

Tickets to the performances cost $25 in advance or $30 at the door.
