Imagine controlling a whole group of people with a wave of your hand. That is the art of conducting an orchestra, choir, or ensemble.

Cambrian College’s Music Performance Program is offering a Wind Conducting Workshop, Saturday, Oct. 26 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the main Sudbury campus on Barrydowne Road.

A number of topics will be covered, including rehearsal technique, movement and gesture, and repertoire selection.

Leading the workshop are Dylan Rook Maddix, professor of music performance at Cambrian College and Gillian MacKay of the University of Toronto.
