If you’re anxious to once again go exploring, Volunteer Sudbury, a local non-profit resource centre, is hosting a city-wide Sudbury Scavenger Hunt this upcoming weekend, Aug. 14 and 15. If you’d love to explore the city, but in a more accessible way, a virtual scavenger hunt will be held online Aug. 15. In fact, if you’d like, you can do both.
The Sudbury Scavenger Hunt is an in-person photo hunt leading you through some of Greater Sudbury’s local attractions, and will be accessible for every ward in Sudbury - from Wanup to Onaping - and all are welcome to participate for the chance to win prizes.
The photo list and the instructions for the events can be found on Volunteer Sudbury’s social media as well as their website, volunteersudbury.com.
The Virtual Scavenger Hunt is an online hunt at that same website, with clues hidden throughout.
Also open to all, the virtual scavenger hunt will happen between 9 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. on Aug. 15. A winner will be drawn at random from all participants to win a prize package donated by local businesses.
The clues to get started can be found on Volunteer Sudbury’s Facebook and Instagram accounts at 9 a.m. on Aug. 14. Interested participants can visit volunteersudbury.com and social media accounts to find out more about these free events, including how to submit in order to be entered for the prizes, or contact the agency’s staff directly for more information.
