Jay and Jess, a foul-mouthed, beer-guzzling, somewhat-educated couple will be at the TNO Nov. 23-25.

Produced by the Théâtre du Trillium, F**king Carl is a play that questions prejudice, gender roles and family care with humour.

If the title strikes you as being vulgar, it’s to convey the authenticity of these two main characters set in a reality that verges on the caricature of trailer park world.

Trying to answer a fairly simple question, this Monster Truck loving couple share their story while we attempt to understand why they believe they are an adequate family to adopt a child.

Sharing tangy populist anecdotes, the couple reveals its humanity.

The script was co-written by Louis-Philippe Roy and Caroline Yergeau, and they both star in the play.

Nov. 23 and 24 showtimes are at 8 p.m. Both showtimes on Nov. 25 — at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. — will be shown with English subtitles.

Tickets, which cost between $5 and $34 depending on age, are available through the TNO box office. Phone 705-525-5606, ext. 4, or visit leTNO.ca.
