The Northern Artists Gallery will be putting on its first Spring Art Show, showcasing a variety of mediums and northern artists from May 11 -14, located at 174 Elgin St.

Sponsored by RBC Wealth Management Dominion Securities, the Spring Art Show will feature close to 20 northern artists, with an array of original works available for purchase – mediums include painting, pottery, photography, sculpture, wood working, stained glass and textile works.

Interested in acquiring an original work of art and meeting the artist? Attend the opening reception on Thursday, May 11 from 7-9 p.m. at 174 Elgin Street.

All works will be available for purchase, ranging in prices with something for everyone. Artists will be on hand to take you through their creative process.

“Sudbury has an appetite for all things local and we’re very excited to be bringing this local art show to the community,” said Paddy O’Sullivan, chair of the Northern Artists Gallery, in a press release.

“The Spring Art Show will be showcasing the incredible talent that exists in Northern Ontario, shining a light on the many members of the Northern Artists Gallery.”

Formally known as Artists on Elgin, in 2018 it was decided that it was time to close the doors at Artists on Elgin and rebrand the organization to better fit the needs of the times and embrace the future.

A new board of directors was formed to plan and direct the organization’s future, which includes a new brand direction, trade name, vision and purpose.

The purpose of the Northern Artists Gallery is to be a relevant part of an engaged northern artist community by promoting quality art through inclusivity, respect, strategic partnerships and advocacy.
