Celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, the 2023 edition of La Nuit sur l’étang will be held March 24 and 25, 2023 in Sudbury.

The event will honour both the past and the future of the Franco-Ontarian festival, said a release from the concert promoter.

Established in 1973 by Fernand Dorais and a group of students from Laurentian University, the Coopérative des artistes du Nouvel-Ontario, the festival presents a concert program of francophone musical artists.

Franco-Ontarian poets and authors also give short readings between musical performances, focusing on the celebration of everything Franco-Ontarian culture has to offer.

The festival also holds a competition for new and emerging Franco-Ontarian bands, La Brunante, back for the first time since before the pandemic. In previous years, the winner of each year's La Brunante is given a slot on the Nuit sur l'étang bill.

For ticket information or concert lineup once it is released, visit the la Nuit sur l’étang website, www.lanuit.ca and on social networks to buy tickets for the streaming of the shows.
