Put on your sunglasses and grab your car keys, the employees at the Holiday Inn are planning a day of fun in the sun this Saturday (July 29).
The sunglasses are optional, but you won't want to forget your
car keys.
Thirty hotel employees will be standing by, sponges and buckets
at the ready, to wash cars in exchange for your cash donation
to Iris Addiction Recovery for Women.
People can donate whatever amount they want for the car wash,
although a $5 minimum is expected.
Respect is Burning Supper Club representatives will be handing
out gift cards for free pasta dinners to each car that passes
through the car wash. The card has a value of $15.
"We'll have a big tent donated by the Rotary Club with tables
and chairs to get out of the sun or rain. There will be face
painting and balloons for the kids, and the Holiday Inn is
putting on a barbecue to raise money for Iris Addiction
Recovery for Women," says organizer Jessica Seguin.
Seguin suggested the fundraiser to her co-workers and has been
organizing the event along with her regular duties at the
hotel's  front desk.
"It's a charity that we all decided was good to support.
Especially now. We want to raise awareness regarding the
importance of the need for women's shelters in the Greater
Sudbury area."
The Iris Addiction Recovery for Women offers treatment for
women with addictions.
A Day of Fun in the Sun will take place Saturday from 10
am to 2 pm. in the parking lot of the Holiday Inn Sudbury
located at 1696 Regent St.
