Greater Sudbury band The Almighty Rhombus is releasing its new EP, Swish, to the first 150 people to attend their pre-release party on Saturday, Dec. 16 at the Townehouse Tavern.

Only those 150 people will be able to hear the album until it is officially released on an indeterminate date in 2018. This is the band’s first release in four years.

At 10 p.m. sharp, Rhombus will be performing a rare double-header set consisting of entirely unreleased material, Swish in its entirety, and a few choice covers.

For their first set, there will be theatre-style seating set up. For their second set, the seats will be removed to facilitate a dance party.

For this special occasion, the band will be preparing a very special stage show consisting of adaptive projections as well as funky decor and lighting.

Jane’s Party, one of Rhombus’ favourite bands, and one of the fastest-rising bands in the country, will close out the night.

Swish will not be available for sale until the new year, and only the first 150 people to attend the pre-release show will receive a copy. For the first 150 people, admission is $15. After that, admission is $10.
