“I just think it's great for family time,” said Tanya Cormier, who's on the carnival's organizing committee. She said it's a chance for people to get out and enjoy winter.

There's plenty going on throughout the four days of the carnival — that includes an opening ceremony, bonfire and fireworks Thursday evening, a comedy night Friday evening, and on the weekend, horse-drawn wagon rides, laser tag, inflatables, a petting zoo, pony rides, hot air balloon rides and much, much more.

The activities take place at four Lively venues: T.M. Davies Arena, St. James and St. Paul schools and Anderson Farm.

“People don't realize how big our carnival is,” said Cormier.

Carnival buttons cost $5 each. Children age four and under get in for free. To check out the full carnival schedule, visit waldenwintercarnival.com.
