In just three weeks’ time, Bad Hats Theatre’s acclaimed adaptation of “Alice in Wonderland” will begin its tour of the family musical in Sudbury.
The reimagining of the classic children’s novel features an all-star cast, including YES Theatre mainstay Chris Fulton. Fulton starred as Tommy DeVito in YES’s record-breaking production of “Jersey Boys,” but his journey with YES Theatre began years before.
It was nearly a decade ago that Fulton began performing with YES. Cast in the role of Tunny in the musical “American Idiot,” he made his Sudbury debut at the Grand Theatre in 2015. Since then, Fulton has gone on to star in five more productions with the company including Link Larkin in “Hairspray” and Tootles/Noodler in last summer’s production of “Peter Pan.”
“Alice in Wonderland,” which was created by the same team that brought you “Peter Pan,” promises to be this spring’s big hit.
The fast-paced, heartfelt musical comedy serves up the whimsy of Wonderland you know and love, with a contemporary twist that brings Lewis Carroll’s upside-down questions about our world into the modern age.
Described as “nothing short of a delight’ by the Toronto Star, this musical is perfect for kids and kids-at-heart. Fulton will star in the dual roles of Tod and Tweedle Dee.
“Get ready for Wonderland, Sudbury!” said Fulton, in a press release. “What a privilege it is to kick off our tour in this incredible community. Trust me when I say you’re not going to want to miss this one-of-a-kind show.”
Alice in Wonderland plays at the Sudbury Theatre Centre only for a limited run from April 24 - May 11. Tickets at $56+HST for adults and $37+HST for youth, with preview tickets at a discounted rate.
