Powerhouse duo The Weber Brothers perform at the Motley Kitchen Friday, Nov. 16 as part of the venue's Dinner & A Show series.
As teenagers, Ryan and Sam Weber travelled 10 hours to the doorstep of their idol, rockabilly legend Ronnie Hawkins.
Said to have been impressed by their raw talent, Hawkins invited the brothers to audition for his backing band The Hawks.
After months of the intense musical apprenticeship of Hawkins' rock n' roll bootcamp, the two began performing alongside legends such as Kris Kristofferson, Levon Helm, Garth Hudson, Jeff Healey and the Tragically Hip.
Over the past 16 years, the pair have recorded 12 independent albums and toured extensively throughout the U.S., Canada and Europe.
In October 2012, the Weber Brothers were invited to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame American Music Masters tribute to Chuck Berry in Cleveland.
There, they shared the stage with artists Merle Haggard, Rick Derringer, Joe Bonamassa, Duke Robillard, and the father of Rock and Roll himself, Chuck Berry.
Held in partnership with the Northern Lights Festival Boréal, the Dinner & A Show series features a buffet dinner served at 6:30 p.m. and live entertainment from 7:30-10 p.m.
The Weber Brothers will join an impressive seasonal lineup comprised of artists Diana Braithwaite and Chris Whiteley, as well as the Andrew Collins Trio.
Tickets including both the dinner and show are $60, while show-only tickets are available for $25. To reserve your seat, phone 705-222-6685.
