On Jan. 13, the Fitzgerald family steps up family programming at STC. Multi-talented Tom, Julie, and Kerry Fitzgerald translate sibling rivalry into a show of jaw-dropping musical one-upmanship with their award-winning fiddling and step-dancing.

Everything Fitz will keep the blood pumping even as the thermostat dips past -25 this frosty season.

The Fitzgerald siblings picked up their bows as five-year-olds living in the Ottawa Valley, soon competing in festivals across the province, including Chelmsford and Sturgeon Falls.

They have since grown into a style uniquely their own, blending Celtic with French Canadian and jazz influences. Gifted and animated performers, the Fitzgeralds can boast of sharing the stage with stars like Natalie MacMaster, Leahy, Tommy Hunter, and Bowfire.

MacMaster, who wowed Sudbury audiences as a headliner at the 2016 Northern Lights Festival Boreal, praises the Fitzgeralds as “standout musicians in STC’s Canadian music industry…a beautiful blend of gorgeous fiddle music, and top rate, absolutely exhilarating dance routines.”

Whether you’re seven or 70, looking to connect with your Celtic roots or completely new to fiddling and step-dancing, Everything Fitz is a riveting show for all.

Everything Fitz is a one-night-only evening performance on Jan. 13, beginning at 7:30 pm. General tickets are $36 (+HST) and student tickets are $12 (+HST).

Receive a 10 - 20 per cent discount when you purchase fSTC’s or more general tickets using STC’s myPicks Subscription offer.

The family fun continues with STC’s Theatre for Young Audiences production, Celestial Being, marking a new partnership with Science North.

On Jan. 20 and 21, rocket to the stars with Martin and Celeste, a pair of terrestrial misfits who find friendship and belonging in an adventure of galactic proportions.

Capping off STC’s month of family programming is Cozy Music with Cosima Grunsky on Jan. 28. This fun-filled, interactive musical show offers an entertaining and educational option for young families across Greater Sudbury.

As part of STC’s evolving efforts to make the arts more accessible, it invites parents and guardians to use the special promocode ROCKET to get adult tickets for the same cost as your child for both Celestial Being and Cozy Music.

In addition, the Saturday matinee for Celestial Being will also be a Pay-What-You-Can Relaxed Performance.

A portion of the ticket sales for Cozy Music will go towards supporting the NEO Kids Foundation. Before the promocode, tickets for Celestial Being and Cozy Music are $20 (+HST) for adults and $12 (+HST) for students and children.

Treat your family to live performance this January. Tickets may be purchased at the DiBrina Box office in-person at 170 Shaughnessy Street in Downtown Sudbury, by phone (705) 674-8381, or online at sudburytheatre.ca.

Please note the Relaxed Performance of Celestial Being on Jan. 21 will feature key changes to the production to be more hospitable to individuals suffering from anxiety disorders, autism spectrum disorders, or anyone who would benefit from a more relaxed performance environment.
