Galerie du Nouvel-Ontario has announced it has invited interdisciplinary artist Hélène Lefebvre to present a series of surprise performances during the Up Here Urban Art and Music Festival, which takes place this year Aug. 16-18.

GNO said Lefebvre's “troubling yet always meaningful style questions identity … while pushing the boundaries of the body and symbolism.”

Lefebvre, a long-time collaborator with GNO, will offer to the wandering crowd performances in line with the one shown at the fifth edition of FAAS (that's GNO's Fair of Alternative Art in Sudbury).

Her last intervention is scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 18, around noon, in front of the YMCA (Durham Street), right before the departure for the Up Here Mystery Tour.

Lefebvre will be in residency at GNO as of Aug. 13.
