Gypsy horns and a Barenaked Lady: What a way to cap off Northern Lights

Final night's performance melds soul, Afro-Colombian and Canadian pop

The 45th edition of Northern Lights Festival Boréal wrapped up last night in Bell Park with a fantastic trio of performers that brought the best of Canadian music into the heart of Bell Park.

Guelph soul/R&B act Minotaurs brought the soul and got the crowd grooving as the sun went down.

Then, Montreal's Gypsy Kumbia Orchestra (winner of the 2016 June Award for World Music Album of the Year) took to the stage with their horns, dancers and high energy.

And finally, former Barenaked Ladies frontman Steven Page hit the stage and gave a performance that was at once thoughtful and light-hearted — and the crowd dug it.
