Sudbury author Matthew Heiti's debut novel “The City Still Breathing” was featured in a Feb. 14 Globe and Mail article as one of three books “worth reading” from “the world of Canadian small press.”

The novel, described in Jade Colbert's article as a “dark but loving ode to 1980s Sudbury,” is a crime book about a dead body that is found on the side of Highway 17 outside Sudbury.

The other two books recommended by Colbert are "Blood, Marriage, Wine and Glitter" by S. Bear Bergman and "Juanita Wildrose: My True Life" by Susan Downe.

Heiti is also known in Sudbury for his work in the theatre world. He's the playwright-in-residence at the Sudbury Theatre Centre, and is also involved with Encore Theatre.
