The Art Gallery of Sudbury features the works of secondary school students from all four local school boards in an exhibit called Emergence that's on display until May 14.

Emergence was initiated in the 1970s and has been an annual exhibition since. This year 13 secondary schools are participating.

This exhibition represents a cross-section of artistic development from grades 9 through 12 in painting, drawing, sculpture, printmaking, photography and mixed media.

Whether intuitive, expressive or conceptual, these works speak of the process of growth, exploration, maturation and the artistic nurturing of the soul. This exciting exhibition of student artwork is an opportunity for the students to share their vision with family, friends, and the public.

The Art Gallery of Sudbury is located at 251 John St. The gallery is open Tuesday – Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. Visit www.artsudbury.org for more information.
