Holy *&@#! Ed the Sock is back and he’s coming to the Nickel City

The cigar-chompin’, loud-mouthed Canadian icon is bringing his War On Stupid tour to Sudbury

Ed the Sock was gone, but not forgotten, but now he’s back and who knows what hot button issue he’ll aim his acerbic wit at next.

Yes, that’s right, Ed the Sock, who once made celebrities tremble on MuchMusic, is back, he’s on the road and he’s heading to Northern Ontario for the first time.

Coming off dates in Alberta, B.C. and Ontario, having hosted a, by all accounts (especially his) hit show at the Winnipeg Comedy Festival, Ed the Sock and his partner in comedy crime, Liana K bring their “War on Stupid” comedy experience to Sudbury — or Stompin' Tom country, Ed would say.

“Fake News! Culture Wars! SJWS! Social media! Trump! Trudeau! Privilege! Penis pics! Alt.Right! Loony Left! Morons! Ed & Red's interactive multimedia show hits all the hot button issues with daring dialogue and weaponized humour that VICE calls ‘more relevant than ever’ “

“These are important topics people need to talk about, but everyone's too scared to touch. We aren't,” says Ed in a cigar-scented press release. “That's what Canadians rely on me for.”

The takes over the Coulson Nightclub in downtown Sudbury on July 13. Special guests include Sudbury’s own Fortunate Losers and Dr. Bong. Get your tickets at EdtheSock.com.

The show includes classic Ed moments from his years at MuchMusic, and video clips with celebrities you won't see anywhere else.

“This is our first visit to Northern Ontario. Ever. Let's make it memorable. In a good way.”

Liana K, the ‘Red’ half from “Ed and Red's Night Party”, joins this leg of the War on Stupid tour.

“Now a successful YouTube influencer with a channel of timely videos deconstructing current events, social issues, entertainment and gaming, Liana brings her comedic insights & perspectives to the battle against idiots – but don’t expect those insights & perspectives to always align with Ed’s!”

Where he used to be on TV, you can now find Ed on his YouTube channel, fittingly titled the FU Network. The channel seems to have re-launched not that long ago under the FU Network name, with a couple of new video interviews with Canadian bands.

In a video released a couple of weeks ago, Ed chatted with Sudbury’s own Fortunate Losers, a hard-rock band out of the Nickel City with a distinctly 1990’s vibe. The band seems to love it as Ed treats them as he treats most people he interviews: like s—t. But it’s all in good fun.

You can watch that video below.

Ed, if you’re reading, Sudbury.com wants to have you on our YouTube channel, too!

Tickets for the Coulson show are on sale now.
