Due to popular demand, the inflatable water park set up in the Vermilion Lake Park in Chelmsford has extended its operations until Aug. 28.

The decision was made because tickets were nearly sold out at 98.7 per cent as of Aug 6.

The inflatable water park is a Sudbury-owned mobile business that is traveling across Ontario. For the month of August, it will be located in the Vermilion Lake Park in Chelmsford and will continue to operate as normal through its extension.

The Splash N Go water park had been delayed last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. But with the green light from the government, they are back to business this year, Mike Lafreniere said. Lafreniere is a local entrepreneur and owner of the water park.

The park offers a multi-course route including monkey bars and a climbing wall that will float on water. As it offers different challenge levels, it’s suitable for ages 5 and up.

The protocols for COVID-19 calls for the park to have four 1.5 hour sessions throughout the day. This will allow the business to effectively social distance and contact trace. The time slots are at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. Although visitors are encouraged to arrive an hour before their booked slot.

Tickets are $25 per person, tax included, and will allow the customer to enjoy full access to the park. The business encourages people to purchase the tickets online to effectively secure a time slot.
