Jazz Sudbury presents its first-ever francophone concert Feb. 16 with Amélie & Les Singes Bleus.

It promises “a tantalizing experience that will pull at your heart strings, and pull you onto the dance floor.”

“Jazz Sudbury is stepping forward in some exciting new directions, and is making waves in strengthening ties with the Greater Sudbury community,” said Ashlyne Botelho, festival director, in a press release.

With the spirited energy and sultry vibe found on their new record, Entre Nous, this group is full of surprises.

Whether turning Edith Piaf’s “Johnny” into a smokey, hip-hop influenced confession, or transforming Jacques Brel’s “Les Singes” into a frenetic, megaphone-amplified warning, Amélie & Les Singes Bleus are a truly unique and thoroughly entertaining group.

With their festive energy and unique interpretations of French classics, ALSB have established themselves as a true crowd-pleaser of English and French audiences alike.

The event, which is 19+, takes place from 8-10 p.m. at Collège Boréal’s “Au Pied du Rocher” venue.

Tickets cost $40 in advance and $45 at the door (HST included), and will include butler served Hors d’oeuvres and Sucre à la crème.
