Les Concerts La Nuit sur l’étang is celebrating its 50th anniversary and in honour of that milestone, they are launching a new endeavour, a series that will offer an on-demand concert available online between 7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. until January 3.
Entitled La Nuit sur l’étang presents, the first concert will feature the Bilinguish Boys, the up-and-coming duo Meagan Bigras and Zachary Clement, as well as the stand-up comedy and hosting by Chloé Thériault.
“We are quite proud to offer this concert recorded at this past year’s 49th edition of La Nuit sur l’étang’’ said Marcel Vaillancourt, communications director. “It gives an opportunity for the members of the Franco-Ontarian diaspora who couldn’t make it to Sudbury to experience this iconic event.”
“This is part of the evolution of our mandate as an organization,’’ said Pierre-Paul Mongeon, the company’s managing director. ‘’We nurture young performers and produce shows with Franco Ontarian talent through concerts, workshops and now on demand events.” Mongeon has been the company’s managing director for nearly 15 years.
La Nuit sur l’étang will also be publishing biographies, briefs, pictures, and concert excerpts from these performers. Another program will be available later this fall.
Go to www.lanuit.ca to purchase the show ‘’La Nuit sur l’étang presents’’ at a cost of $9.99 tax included.
