The No Strings Attached Community Band presents its “Remembrance and Celebration” concert at Lockerby Composite School Saturday, Nov. 9.

The concert gets underway at 2 p.m. in the school's McKellar Auditorium.

The program will include military marches, a medley of popular wartime music and contemplative pieces to honor the memory of those that have served.

Founded in 2001 by Sandra McMillan, the No Strings Attached Community Band offers the opportunity for local amateur wind musicians in Sudbury to perform in a full concert band ensemble.

Members include all ages, from high school to retirees. They offer a unique performance perspective to the Sudbury arts community due to their novel repertoire and mandate.

The band competes regularly in the Northern Ontario Music Festival.

It rehearses 7-9 p.m. Thursday evenings at Lo-Ellen Park Secondary School. The band is always looking to recruit brass, woodwind and percussion players.

Visit the band's website at nostringsattached.org for more information.
