Local musician Larry Berrio is holding his annual Berrio on the Sandbanks concert on the north shore of Wanapitei Lake Saturday, July 21.
Berrio said on his Facebook page that rain is in the extended forecast for Saturday, so in the case of inclement weather (knock on wood it doesn't materialize), the new date will be Aug. 11.
The event was rated No. 3 on the list of the “5 Must-Attend Boating Events for Summer 2018” on the website northernontario.travel.
“An absolutely killer event that should not be missed,” the list said.
“Each summer country music star Larry Berrio puts on a concert on a barge on the lake, with the massive sandbanks towering behind him — he even made a music video of the event in the first year.
“That first year was mostly locals, but as the popularity of the event grew we started to see more people trailering their boat in for this event. This year promises to be the best yet — definitely worth the drive.
“The waist-deep water around the stage means the boats can be anchored, and the whole gang can get out and enjoy Larry’s concert up close and personal.”
