The Lively Ski Hill is scheduled to open Jan. 16, Greater Sudbury announced Friday.
Skiers and snow boarders can enjoy the hill beginning Wednesday, when it's scheduled to open from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Historically, opening dates for the Lively Ski Hill have ranged from as early as Dec. 27 to as late as Jan. 17, depending on weather conditions.
To safely open, Lively Ski Hill requires a sufficient amount of natural and man-made snow on the ski runs and ski lift loading and unloading areas. Consistent daily temperatures of -15 C and below are needed for the snow making system to be effective.
Regular operating hours and ongoing snow conditions at Lively Ski Hill are available online at Greatersudbury.ca/ski. Operating hours are dependent on weather conditions and may change without notice.
