Local musicians Tessa and Petr Balaz recently moved back to Sudbury, and saw a lack of diverse music showcases happening year round.
With the Steve’s Encore lounge in the Sudbury Theatre Centre being recently renovated, they decided to use the venue to host monthly events called “An Evening with Tessa and Petr” with special guests.
These events will take place on the last Wednesday of every month.
This month’s event takes place from 7-9 p.m. Jan. 25, and features local Indigenous Pop artist Thea May as well as 2V+B, a trio of symphony musicians consisting of Cristina Masotti, Melissa Shaak and Brittany Goldsborough.
2V+B will be performing pop tunes on two violins and bass. “Think Bridgerton soundtrack, but cooler!” said Tessa Balaz in an email.
On Feb. 22, there will be a Latin showcase, featuring Claudio Peralta and Falcon.
