Local pageant queen Sierra MacMillan will be heading to Toronto next week, to represent the Province of Ontario in the 2019 Miss Teenage Canada Pageant

The 17-year-old Marymount graduate was handpicked by Miss Teenage Canada representatives while competing in the 2019 Miss Northern Ontario Pageant held in Sudbury this past May.

MacMillan 'wowed' the crowd during the talent portion this year, which is no surprise, given the fact that she was crowned Miss Talent for her performance of Kacey Musgraves' "Space Cowboy" last season at the 2018 Miss Sudbury Pageant.

In order to qualify for the pageant, contestants are required to raise a $500 donation for the Children's Wish Foundation of Canada.

In line with MacMillan's platform this season, which is, 'Empowering People Through Empathy and Acts of Kindness,' the community leader has already raised that and more, through a month-long bottle drive and music fundraiser.

In the fall, the 17-year-old Marymount graduate will be attending Laurentian University's McEwen School of Architecture, where she hopes to attain a Bachelor of Architectural Studies.

If you would like to help support MacMillan in her journey for the crown, you can cast your vote here for the price of $1. The proceeds from each vote goes directly to the Children's Wish Foundation.
