Mangia, Mangia! Plenty of eats at the 44th Italian Festival

Caruso Club sets the stage for songs, games and much more

The smell of Italian sausage and porketta wafts through the air at the Caruso Club.

It's a clear indication that things are going well at the 44th annual Italian Festival, where hundreds of people have come to celebrate their heritage.

There's live music, fresh food, games for the kids – and plenty of camaraderie to be had.

Young and old alike find something to do.

For 12-year-old Shana Comaccio, it was the Ms. Caruso pageant that drew her attention this year, although she's a regular at the Italian Festival.

And she claimed the crown, beating out six other young ladies.

“I was really nervous, but it feels good,” she said. “It's awesome, because as an Italian, I get to represent my culture at all of the Caruso Club events. It was a great weekend, lots of great people, great food and fun games.”
