If you're a music lover, you're going to want to attend the Sudbury Music & Collectables Show on Sept. 11.
You can purchase vinyl — including LPs and 45s — CDs, DVDs, posters and memorabilia at the event, which takes place at the Caruso Club.
The show runs 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and admission is $3. But if you pay a $10 admission, you can get into the show at 8:30 a.m.
“A person getting in at that time would beat the crowds and a better shot at finding what you're looking for,” said organizer Ivan Amirault. “A lot of the people are looking for the same stuff.”
He likens the show to poking around a second-hand bookstore — you never know what treasures you're going to find.
There's been a resurgence in interest in vinyl albums, he said. He said that may be because the album covers are pieces of artwork and because vinyl is said to give a less harsh sound.
“CDs are kind of small, and of course with MP3s you're not getting any sort of artwork,” Amirault said. “You're just getting the music on a memory stick.”
