The Nickel City Wind Ensemble holds a concert entitled “Musical Sketches” April 30.

The band will be performing a variety of music that will take audience members on a journey through story and images, a press release.

The performance features folk music from England, Scotland, Newfoundland, and the Appalachians, as well as special piece about the life of Pablo Picasso. 

Joining the band on stage will be local singer-songwriter Andy Lowe. He will perform music from his Northern Ontario songbook, and together with the concert band will perform his anthem "Bound For Northern Ontario.”

The concert takes place this Sunday starting at 2:30 p.m. in the Cambrian College Auditorium (room 2226).

Tickets cost $10 general admission (children 12 and under free), and are available at the door.
