Musicians support cancer research

A Sudbury woman, Dawn Bujold, will be participating in The Weekend to End Breast Cancer 60-kilometre walk in Ottawa, July 21-23. So Bujold's employer, The Laughing Buddha, hosted a  fundraising event for breast cancer research this past weekend.

"I got local artists performing and helping out to  bring awareness of breast cancer and breast health," says Bujold.

The entertainment began on the patio at the downtown restaurant with sets from the Buddha's manager and singer/songwriter, Matt Foy, as well as performances by Don Kunto and Paul Loewenberg. Sarah Craig, Stephanie Fyfe and Kristen Brutto also performed. The sounds of music  continued to fill the air throughout the late evening with Sudbury's only all-female trio, Betty Beats Veronica, and  Reggae/Ska band The Mondo Idols performing at the Towne House.

There was also an art auction and special desserts were sold throughout the event. Bujold, who's also a pastry chef, baked the desserts.
