Nickel City Sound places 3rd in contest, will compete on international stage

'I am so proud of these ladies,' says director

Nickel City Sound, Sudbury’s own all female a cappella chorus specializing in barbershop harmony style, recently earned third place out of 13 choruses in the Harmony Inc. Area 5 Contest.

This contest took place in Toronto May 24-26, and secured an invitation for the chorus to compete on the international stage.

The Harmony Inc. International Convention and Contest is being held this November in Sandusky, Ohio.

“What an exciting weekend!” said Nickel City Sound director Wanda Olsen, in a press release.

“I am so proud of these ladies. They have worked hard over the last few months and to have their efforts recognized with a third place finish was indeed satisfying.”
