Organizers of the fourth annual Northern Ontario Book Fair are looking to fill the author roster for their upcoming event in Timmins on August 20.

Authors who register will join notable names including Timmins’ own Paul Toffanello, author of the popular Popchuck’s Ghost series, Sudbury’s Anne Marie Mawhiney, author of Spindrifts, and North Bay’s award-winning novelist Rod Carley, author of many titles including Kinmount and Grin Reaping.

The book fair will take place Aug. 20 in Timmins.

The organizers have partnered with the Downtown Timmins BIA to host the event on Third Avenue between Pine and Balsam. There will also be a stage set up for literary readings, open to both attending authors and members of the public.

Authors must be born in, currently reside in, or have spent a significant portion of their life in Northern Ontario to register, and must have at least one traditional or self-published book to sell. While there is no restriction as to the style or genre of the publication – comic books, graphic novels, and photo books are welcome – it must be in finished book form.

While originally planned as a two-day event, the second day portion has been cancelled due to low funding.

The cost to register is $49 +HST and will be open until August 2.

Interested authors are invited to visit this website for more information or to fill out the registration form.
