Delta Hotels is the first national chain in North America to achieve Pets Can Stay certification in the majority of its pet friendly locations, and to establish pet policies to ensure continuity across the brand for their guests travelling with pets.
"We're very pleased to see Delta Hotels taking such a proactive
role in addressing the needs of the pet travel market",
comments Carla Stewart, general manager for Pets Can Stay.
Helping establishments refine and market their pet guest
programs, the Pets Can Stay program assures travellers and
their pets that they will be welcomed and offered specific
standard amenities.
Wherever the Pets Can Stay Certification logo is displayed,
travellers can take comfort in the knowledge that the service
provider adheres to consistent pet-related standards, criteria
and guidelines; requirements for certification include offering
non-smoking pet-designated rooms, providing food/water bowls
upon request, and maintaining pet fees that reasonably reflect
cleaning and occupancy considerations instead of simply
penalizing the pet owner.
In addition to property certification, Delta Hotels also
consulted with Pets Can Stay to develop a new corporate pet
guest program that has now been implemented across the entire
brand.
"We took the extra step of standardizing our pet guest
program brand-wide to assure pet owners that they can expect
the same pet services and policies at each Pets Can Stay
Certified location", adds Kariann Workman, manager of rooms
standards and programs.
In addition, travellers will be able to access Delta Hotels'
online reservation system via the Pets Can Stay website, and
book directly into the Delta location of their choice.
