Kassie Taylor, who went viral during the pandemic for videos showing her dressed as a princess and singing to children in isolation, started her own entertainment company and brought a touch of royalty to the Caruso Club on May 1

Hear ye! Hear ye! The fairest throughout the city were invited to attend the second annual Once Upon a Time Princess Ball at Sudbury’s Caruso Club this past weekend.

Sudburians walked through a magical portal into the Flower Kingdom’s royal ballroom on May 1, where they were greeted by their favourite prince and princess characters. Guests enjoyed a tea party, singing and dancing, magical crafts and colouring, games, makeovers and more.

We Bring the Party Sudbury, specializing in kid’s events and parties, started three years ago at the beginning of the pandemic when a video of owner Kassie Taylor performing went viral. In an attempt to brighten the spirits of a friend’s daughter, Taylor dressed as a fairy tale princess and sang to her from her balcony.

“It just skyrocketed from there,” said Taylor.

After noticing a lack of events geared specifically towards young children in the city Taylor created the Once Upon a Time Princess ball to allow kids to dress up and feel like royalty for the day.

“They get to come in, do makeovers, wear jewelry, and put on beautiful dresses,” said Taylor.

We Bring the Party Sudbury is proud partners with Big Brothers Big Sisters, donating proceeds from each of their events. This year's ball raised more than $2,000 to help support the youth mentoring programs at Big Brothers Big Sisters.

“Our company is for the kids, and Big Brothers Big Sisters is also for the kids, so I think it’s a perfect partnership,” said Taylor.

Taylor plans to grow her audience by creating events of all genres so kids with different interests are acknowledged. A superhero Sunday and a witch and wizards events are in the works for the near future.
