Photos: A sea of smiles at the 44th annual Valley East Days

Inflatables, wrestling, poutine and more at the Hanmer Valley Shopping Centre

If the number of parked cars in the Hanmer Valley Shopping Centre parking lot and surrounding residential area were any indication, this year's Valley East Days was an incredible success.

Forty-four years after being introduced to the Hanmer community, this highly anticipated three-day event continues to draw upwards of 30,000 people from Greater Sudbury and beyond.

This year's festivities included off-site sporting events, food vendors, exhibitors, a wide variety of family entertainment, car show, fireworks, as well as live music from local and travelling musicians.

Friday's country-themed performances featured headliner Blackjack Bill and special guest Larry Barrio, followed by a rock-themed event Saturday featuring 54.40 and Clash of the Bands winner, The Dazed

Now that the inflatables have been downed and the music has stopped, organizers turn their attention to the last event on their schedule - Monday's Community Cleanup. Getting things back in order after hosting Ontario's largest free family festival is no easy task after all.
