Photos: More spectacular snow sculptures spotted across Sudbury

Sudburians battle the lockdown blues with snowy creations

The provincial stay-at-home order was lifted in Greater Sudbury on Feb. 16, but the restrictions that were in place for much of December and into February put a bit of a damper on our community winter carnivals.

Annual carnivals in Onaping Falls, and Walden chose to go virtual this year. The committees got creative, inviting residents to take part in a variety of online events, including snow sculpture contests that encouraged families to get outside and get creative. The community of Wahnapitae was also inspired and held its first annual snow sculpture contest this year.

Thanks to these snow sculpture contests, impressive snow creations have been popping up across Greater Sudbury - check them out in the photo gallery above - you may get inspired to make your own!

Did you build a snow sculpture this winter? We want to see it!

Post a photo of your snowy creation in the comments below or email your pics to [email protected] to have it added to our photo gallery.
