YES Theatre has announced the casting for its YES Theatre Orchestra production of Mary Poppins, which runs in December at Glad Tidings Church.

Tackling the iconic role of Mary Poppins is YES Theatre alumni Leah Perreault, who was last seen as Mother Abbess in The Sound Of Music.

Audiences will also remember Perreault as Amber in YES Theatre's 2016 production of Hairspray.

Michael MacEachern, last seen as Sam in this summer's Mamma Mia will return to play the tap dancing and charming chimney sweep Burt.

Local favourites and YES Theatre veterans Jake Deeth and Janie Pinard return as Mr. and Mrs. Banks. Audience will remember the pair from numerous leading roles with YES Theatre. Both artists are celebrating 11 seasons with the company.

And rounding out the family is Sidney Cassidy, last seen as James in this summer's production of James and the Giant Peach as Jane Banks, and, in his YES Theatre debut, Cole Leblanc as Michael Banks.

They'll be joined onstage by many YES Theatre Alumni including: Jenna Daypuk, Kelsey Tyson, Nathan Scruton, Darshan Geer, Katie Behun, Jess Crowe, Scott Denniston, Colin Eady, Tessa Gooden, Darquise Lauzon, Montana McCulloch, Elizabeth Natti, Brooke Palladino, Ellie Rajotte, Maryn Tarini, Chloe Theriault, Hannah Waterson and Sean Lynott.

This touching and heartwarming classic will be brought to life with a live 16- piece orchestra and a cast of 24 actors.

Even grown-ups can learn a lesson or two from the nanny trying to remind us that “anything can happen, if you let it,” said a press release.

The production runs at Glad Tidings Church at 7 p.m. Dec. 12, 13 and 14. There's also a 1 p.m. show Dec. 14.

Tickets cost $30 for youths and students, $35 for seniors (65+) and $40 for adults. They are available at www.yestheatre.com or in person at One Sky on Durham Street Tuesdays and Fridays only from 12-5 p.m.
