The Townehouse Tavern has an unusual art display on this Saturday evening starting at 8 p.m.

All of the calendars over the past two-and-a-half decades featuring the bar's awesome monthly musical lineup will be on display.

“It's an art display. It's great live music. It's a bit of talk about a book,” said a description on the event's Facebook page.

“We started bringing in wild, different, alternative, new, unique music in 1991. Since 1995 one of the main promotional tools has been the monthly calendar. In the past few months we have gathered every calendar and mounted them on boards.

“On February 25th, we will take over all the walls at the Townehouse to live in history for a bit. Remember all of the great bands we have seen at the Townehouse over the years?

“Bedouin Soundclash opening for General Rudie? The Sheepdogs opening for The Perpetrators? Nickelback opening for Scratching Post? It's all here. Come see it in colour. Paul (Loewenberg) will talk about the shows and give a glimpse into a long form writing project about The Townehouse Tavern.

“We will also release information about celebrating 30 years of The Townehouse Tavern.”

Sex & Summer and other local bands will be performing. There will be a $7 cover charge for the bands later on in the evening, but attending the art display is free.
