Now that the smoke has cleared on Elgin Street, Downtown Sudbury has released the list of your favourites from this year's RibFest.
The executive director of Downtown Sudbury said the rain made for a wet event, but certainly didn't dampen the enthusiasm of those who attended.
“The 7th Annual Downtown Sudbury Ribfest has come to a close, with another very successful year,” said Maureen Luoma, executive director of Downtown Sudbury. “There were great crowds over the weekend, in spite of the rain.”
Among the “great crowds” was Emily Lauzon an her family, who told NorthernLife.ca they travelled all the way from Timmins for RibFest for a very good reason, and were having a good time, despite the weather.
“Ribs!” laughed Lauzon. “I have family here, too. We wanted to come and visit before the summer was over, so this was really the last chance.”
Held in support of the Red Cross, this is the seventh year for the event in Greater Sudbury. Six award-winning ribbers were on hand, and Ribfest this year featured a children's area and a merchandise village, in addition to live music.
And the winners are:
