If you happen to be of Greek origin or if you just love Greek food and culture, your favourite weekend of the year is almost here.

The 27th annual Sudbury Greek Festival runs at St. Nicholas Greek Church at 486 Ester Rd. in the South End from July 26-28.

Enjoy authentic Greek food and desserts (for example, souvlaki, moussaka, spanakopita, gyros, roast lamb, Greek sausages and more), traditional dancing, night celebrations with a Greek DJ, a Greek market, raffle, kids' activities and church tours.

The festival starts at 4 p.m. July 26 and runs 11 a.m. both July 27 and July 28 well into the evening.

Admission is free. View the festival's full schedule on its website.
