Sea Perry kicks off East Coast tour in Sudbury

Sudbury folk rockers Sea Perry are starting their first ever Eastern Canada tour this Friday, Oct. 23 with a show at the Towne House Tavern.

Sudbury folk rockers Sea Perry are starting their first ever Eastern Canada tour this Friday, Oct. 23 with a show at the Towne House Tavern.

The tour is in promotion of their latest single, “Pressure” as well the upcoming release of a special edition of their debut album “Do What You Do” which was released back in April of this year. The special edition will feature Pressure as well as two other new songs.

Sudbury will be the jumping off point for the tour that will take the band as far east as Fredericton, New Brunswick.

The band got a bit of a head start on their tour just last week when they performed at Rogers Hometown Hockey in North Bay.

“Hometown Hockey was an awesome experience,” said Shawn Fisher, Sea Perry bassist. “We all grew up playing hockey and it's part of our culture and to be able to perform at an event that is just surrounded by Canadian culture and I think our music lends itself to hockey as well.”

Fisher admits that the band doesn't get to play in Sudbury as much as they might like due to tours and scheduling, but he is thankful for local music venues like the Towne House for where the band is today.

“The Towne House has always been really supportive of us and we all played there individually,” said Fisher. “Paul Loewenberg has always been great and helped us out in any way possible through either gigs or introducing us to other local artists.”

In the short time that they've been together, Sea Perry – made up of Chris Milligan (guitar, vocals), Chad Bouchard (drums) and Fisher have continued to build fans across the country and, while juggling their day jobs, continue to work on their songwriting.

The band has shared the stage with Big Wreck, The Trews, The Strumbellas, Hollerado and Great Big Sea, to name a few.

Sea Perry will be sharing the stage with The 24th Street Wailers on Friday evening and the show will get underway at 11 p.m. sharp so get there early. No tickets for purchase, just pay cover at the door.
