Send kids to camp this Valen-wines Day

There will be chocolate and wine, but the Valen-Wine's Day soiree at SRO is about more than sweet indulgences.
There will be chocolate and wine, but the Valen-Wine's Day soiree at SRO is about more than sweet indulgences.

The event, put on by the Sudbury Manitoulin Children's Foundation, will make summer a whole lot more exciting for kids who might not otherwise have the opportunity to experience camp. Funds raised at the first annual gala will go to the organization's Send-A-Kid To Camp program.

“Valentine’s Day is a time to show your loved ones how much you care, and we are hoping that our event will bring couples and friends together for a great time in their support of children in our community,” stated Tanya Tuohimaa, marketing and events director at SMCF.

The SMCF is a registered charitable organization that has been providing memorable camping experiences for abused and disadvantaged children of the Sudbury and Manitoulin districts since 1984.

It has also been helping youth who have been in the care of the Children’s Aid Society achieve their educational goals through the Bursary Program since 2003.

For a $25 solo ticket or $40 for a pair, guests will get to sample all sorts of goodies, be treated to the musical stylings of Justine Giles, as well as a free round of golf at 6th Avenue Golf and Country Club.

To pick up tickets, stop by SRO downtown or phone 705-673-2227.
