Serena Ryder will headline a concert in Bell Park on Aug. 19 being put on as part of the Ontour concert series.
Other performers at the event, which gets underway at 7 p.m., include Coleman Hell, Mia Martina, Jonathan Roy and the Nickel City's own Stef Paquette.
As part of a year-long line-up of events marking Ontario's 150th anniversary celebrations, Ontario's free ONtour concert series will provide the soundtrack for the summer of 2017, stopping in more than 20 communities across Ontario and showcasing some of the province's brightest homegrown musical talent, said a press release from the province.
From Peterborough to Blind River, from Ajax to Kenora, from Hamilton to Sudbury, audiences will have the opportunity to attend a free concert featuring at least three acts.
All of the ONtour concerts are free and open to music-lovers of all ages and there are no tickets required.
“Music is magic – able to cross generational, cultural, and linguistic boundaries. ONtour is an opportunity for people from all walks of life to share in this communal experience, to build community pride, and to create cherished memories for years to come,” said Eleanor McMahon, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sport, in a press release.
