The snow and ice have pretty well melted away now, and it's time to gear up for the gardening season.
Green thumbs might be interested in attending the eighth annual Sudbury Gardening Festival, set for May 26 at the YMCA/Parkside Centre building on Durham Street.
The event, organized by the Sudbury Horticultural Society, runs 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. both inside and outside the building.
There'll be gardening-related vendors, exhibitors, speakers, a spring plant sale and juried horticultural show.
The downtown will be hopping that day, with the Downtown Sudbury Yard and Sidewalk Sale taking place at the same time.
